How Do I Turn a Video Into Project Notes in the Albi Mobile App?

Learn how to record a video in the Albi mobile app and have what you say automatically turned into organized project notes.

When you record a video in the Albi mobile app, you can talk through what you're seeing as you film. Albi transcribes what you say and organizes it into observations, measurements, and action items on the project, so you don't have to type anything.

This feature is available to all companies, and there's nothing to set up.

How to Record a Video Note

  1. Open a project and tap the camera icon in the quick actions bar at the bottom of the project screen.
  2. Tap VIDEO at the bottom of the camera screen to switch to Video mode.
  3. Look for the speech icon in the bottom left corner. When it appears, Albi is ready to transcribe what you say while you record.
  4. Tap the record button and describe what you see. Speak naturally as you film.
  5. Tap the record button again to stop when you're done. The video uploads, and Albi processes what you said in the background.

  7. Your note will be organized into observations, measurements, and action items and added to the project timeline under Notes.

Tips for Better Notes

  • Speak clearly, and describe what you see as you film. The more specific you are, the better your notes will be.
  • Once processing is finished, the note appears in the project timeline under Notes, on both the mobile app and the web.
  • The note works like any other project note. You can edit or delete it, and doing so won't affect the video.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don't see the speech icon. Make sure the camera is in Video mode. The speech icon doesn't appear in Photo or 360 mode.

I recorded a video, but no note appeared. First, check that the video has finished uploading. The note shows up a little while after the upload completes. If nothing was said clearly during the recording, no note is created.

Can I edit the note? Yes. It's a regular project note, so you can edit or delete it like any other note.

Does this work on the web? Recording with the speech icon is only available in the mobile app camera. Notes created from your videos appear on the web just like any other project note.
