How Do I Create an Estimate Using Xactimate in Albi?

When integrated with Xactimate, Albi can automatically or manually create Xactimate project shells and pull completed estimates into the Workbook. This allows you to manage Xactimate estimates directly within your Albi project without re-entering data. Depending on your setup, Albi can create a new Xactimate project automatically, connect an existing project, or create additional Xactimate projects for revisions or supplements.

Create New Xactimate Project

When your company is integrated with Xactimate, Albi can automatically or manually connect projects to Xactimate based on your integration settings.

How Xactimate Project Creation Works

Depending on your company’s configuration, Albi can create a Xactimate project (shell/file) in different ways:

  • Automatic creation
    • Your company may be set up so that every new Albi project automatically creates a Xactimate project.
    • Alternatively, the Xactimate project may be created automatically when the project reaches a specific status.

  • Manual connection
    • If the project is not yet connected, you can manually sync it by clicking Connect to Xactimate.
    • This creates the initial Xactimate shell/file linked to the Albi project.

Creating a New Xactimate Project (Second Shell)

If the project is already connected to Xactimate, you will see the option to Create New Xactimate Project.

When you select Create New Xactimate Project:

  • Albi creates an additional Xactimate shell/file for the same Albi project
  • This does not replace the existing Xactimate project
  • All estimating and line-item work is completed directly inside Xactimate
  • Estimates are pulled from Xactimate into Albi once synced

📘 Important Notes

  • Albi does not push estimates from Albi into Xactimate
  • Albi only pulls estimates from Xactimate into Albi

Creating a new Xactimate project results in multiple Xactimate files tied to the same Albi project, which is useful for revisions, supplements, or alternate estimates
